Selah Sue, Closets
Selah Sue

Selah's relaxed and easy-going style is a sharp contrast to her perfected pompadour-like pouf bun that sits on the top of her head and that came about because she thought that her head was too big. However, with fame, Selah's head doesn't seem to be getting too big at all. Hanging out with the recently successful singer and songwriter was much like listening to her music -- uplifting, honest and heartfelt. Listen to 'Raggamuffin' if you're in the mood to jam to something that's a mix of Lauryn Hill's 'Doo-Wop,' Erykah Badu's 'On & On,' and Bob Marley & The Wailer's 'Kinky Raggae.' "My whole first album is about learning to accept who you are, because that was hard for me to do," she explains openly, in hopes that her songs will inspire listeners to express themselves freely. With the same openness, Selah tells us about how she hates shopping, and, until age 14, only wore her brother's clothes. Now she enjoys the clothes given to her from brands like Chanel, but still keeps the same laid back feel with basics from H&M. With or without her gifted clothes and her favorite black heels, as Prince once told her, you can see and feel that Selah breathes music ultimately more than she cares about anything material.
