Packing with Laila Gohar

“I always beep going through security, no matter what!” Laila says, her over the top ring adorned with dangling bells ringing in full force. Preparing for a two month trip to the South of France, Cairo and Tangiers, Laila walks us through her packing process, starting with stuffing ten pairs of African printed pants into one of her countless cloth shoe bags. She obsessively fills each of these bags with a particular treasure — one contains her sunglass collection (including vintage Versace shades from her dad), another brimming with her vibrant and printed Happy Socks, and one designated for her perfectly worn, rainbow array of cotton tank-tops. Watch the video to hear how Laila’s love for travel outweighs the “nightmare” of airplanes and airports, and never having enough room in her suitcase for her abundant sartorial expression.
