The world is changing. Our country is changing.
We are living in times when more than ever, we need eachother.
It’s been a challenging year for most.
Dancing through survival is an ART.
So no matter how much you have, or how little you have, it’s the love in your life that makes you rich. Even with nothing, you can still live La Dolce Vita.
Continuing on with our daily ensembles, this year has been full of ripped jeans, prints with culture, dusty sequins, and the colors of America.
On Summer: Chain necklace from Salvage Vintage, Red vintage dress from ‘Frock You’, Blue and white hawaiian print shirt is a family heirloom/hand-me-down from our great grandfather, Captain James Herbert Kelly, blue Vans that I’ve had since I was a sophmore in high school.
On Ruby: Lily Farouche rhinestoned jean jacket (also stolen from mother, bought in the 80′s), vintage nightgown from Salvation, vintage knee-highs from god only knows where, Jeffrey Campbell black platforms.
On Summer: Mexican embroidered top from Wasteland, ripped vintage Levis from Studio Vintage, long gold sequin coat from the Pasadena Flea Market, brown Minnetonka boots.
La Dolce Vita
There’s a mattress on the floor
The refrigerator’s empty
Strung lights above the door
Wildflowers by the entry
There’s a dusty windowpane
And we let the birds fly in
Even when it starts to rain
There’s a rainbow in the kitchen
What good is life if there’s no fight
We’re struggling but we’re not alone
You by my side we’ll be alright
It’s ugly but it’s beautiful
Baby it’s tough times in America
If love is free I got everything I need
So take my hand and never let go
Baby it’s tough times in America
If love is free I got everything I need
This is La Dolce Vita
We read by candelight
The television’s never working
But it’s full of love tonight
Even though we both have nothing
What good is life if there’s no fight
We’re struggling but we’re not alone
You by my side we’ll be alright
Its’ ugly but it’s beautiful
Baby it’s tough times in America
If love is free I got everything I need
So take my hand and never let go
Baby it’s tough times in America
If love is free I got everything I need
This is La Dolce Vita
