Raised in a small beach town in Australia among a community of people with alternative lifestyles, Ms. Fitz is drawn towards anyone that looks at the world through different eyes and wants to create something that diverges from what you are “suppose to do and think.” Basketball-wear and bows with Egyptian-inspired designer clothes, and surf overalls with a glamorous vintage fur, is all part of her passion to be unpredictable but not “ridiculous.” Ms. Fitz is taking in everything right now, traveling the world to help her form the direction for her life as a stylist, designer, blogger, and overall quiet anarchist. Similar to the range of clothes piled on her couch when I came to shoot her, she loves to infuse all cultural references together when designing, like the bold neon edge she gives to her earthy, Afghany-inspired necklaces. Currently, Ms. Fitz is inspired by “chilly and beautiful” Amsterdam; for the arts, youthful vitality, and support of women’s rights there. Though the creative freedom of the ’80s reigns in fashion choices like her random but spot-on pick of a Genny primary-color blocked coat (she had no idea who Genny was, but had the eye to purchase the piece) and the ’90′s, in her adoration of “ballsy bitches” like Salt-n-Pepa, TLC, and MC Lyte. For Ms. Fitz, unless it’s extreme, she doesn’t see the point.

Australia is more open to being different? Oh, please. I guess it depends what city you’re talking about too.
i like her. i’ve been to byron bay!!! amaaaazing to see a fash kid from there. come to london- we’d eat you up here x
This is so rad on so many levels.
hey jongleur lady you are awesomeness.
I am having flashbacks to my early teen years watching video hits with all those hot chicks in their bike pants and mad hair dos…
Australia is a very accepting society, generally speaking…
Love her style. This lady can rock anything she chooses to absolute perfection cause she does it with integrity and uses clothing to speak her mind and have fun. Personal style is about expression, feeling and communication. Fitzy never fails to take the opportunity to let the world know is no uncertain terms what’s up, what she is about and where she’s going. Seeing her step out amongst the generic, cookie cutter, watered down, cool-aid versions of style, normally draped in the guise of fashion, (and more often than not the antithesis of personal style) is refreshing and sobering for fashion slaves who dress ignorantly and in servitude to the trends, often without knowing what they are saying, what they are expressing or who they are ripping off. Fitzy reminds us all that we should be celebrating our awesomeness and using style to express the unique person behind the sartorial armour. She is gorgeous, sexy, hot, original and probs the most real person (and stylist) around. She rocks basically.
awesome!
Wow. I cannot believe she just compared Mambo to Ksubi.. Mambo was nowhere near what Ksubi is today. Mambo was mainstream surfer wear, Ksubi is high-priced australian street wear. Don’t see the connection ?
yeah i think the comparison was a tad silly too… great chick though
She cute. She looks like a dancer for Jonte!
You should feature Jonte!
[...] but surely not least, this chick has some pretty awesome hair. Alllmost makes me want to take a buzzer to the sides of mine. Not [...]
Hmm maybe not in terms of design, but I guess the impact that Ksubi have had on pop/youth culture isn’t dissimilar to what Mambo did.. Anyhow, she’s interesting
I LOVE HER!!
i`m totally in love with this rad girl..
Dreadful! those clothes were second hand for a reason..
Anna, ever heard the term “one persons trash is another persons treasure?” You obviously would never understand this girls aesthetic- she rules! Not some mindless fashion drone that eats up trend upon trend, she’s authentic, eccentric and fierce! LOVE MS FITZ!
What we have here is a truly delusional, insecure person who feels they have to resort to these low forms of documenting their ‘art’ and go so far as to post blogs called ‘What I Wore’. Who cares, sweetheart? You are not famous. You cannot write about yourself as if you were. You take the attention away from truly talented, struggling people trying to make their mark on the art world – you are not an artist, you are a poser. I don’t care what you do with your time or your life, nor does anyone else, so maybe you should stop posting it on public forum as if you were some sort of goddess to be worshipped.
stylelikeu is one of my favorite sites and i discovered a lot of new talent because of them..and once again a real cool article on this artist ms Fitz!!
reply @ Mike ;its kind of obvious that you are the frustrated delusional, insecure, struggling semi talented artist..
no worries Mike if you ever get good enough we might all see your work up on this site!

The 80′s is one of my favorite decades! Not a lot of people in the fashion community really appreciate the 80′s.
Love her daring look!

I just saw Mike’s comment and wanted to respond to it. StyleLikeU is not about self-promotion, it is about sharing people’s personal stories and philosophies, both on style and otherwise, so that others may be inspired. Ms. Fitz exemplifies the sort of independent and fearless spirit that we can all learn something from.
You’re fierce Mz Fitz.
Keep going at it!
Also being an Australian, I agree with her – Australia does has more room for movement. And if you pay attention to the our artists/designers you’d be able to see that we are a very lucky people to come from a country that drives and inspires us.
Thankyooooooou!
