"Things come from conflict. I can't stay in my house and leave myself up to my own devices only, because then nothing is generated." Lexie Smith

There is so much to take in from Lexie’s two videos, she is so at ease and joyful in the expression of her style. Lexie is such a pro at the finds, the standouts for me are the very cropped little boys $1 black leather jacket from the Salvation army, I have been obsessing on finding one as great for so little. It reminds me of something that I saw from Jean Paul Gaultier a couple of seasons ago. Lexie has a way with taking things that could seem ordinary, and turning it into something original and extraordinary, like her Minnetonka Moccasin boots and her boyfriend’s boy scout scarves. Her sense of proportion is acute and I love her Pocohantas meets Princess meets Urban sensibility, but all of it pales next to her self-possession.

I think she worries too much about looking like other people. That’s fine, but you can have an item someone else has if you wear it in a unique way and make it your own.

I love that she can truly admit that she doesn’t enjoy spending a lot of money on her clothing. She is able to put together so many great looks, and has a lot of great finds. To top it off she’s gorgeous ! Living proof that money doesn’t always buy you good style :)
