Gabrielle Grenier | artist and manager

Black, Katherine Hepburn

"I have a painterly way of dressing, because I am all about texture and color." Gabrielle Grenier

When you see Gabrielle in her sculptural Phillip Lim booties, black leather Max Mara dress, a neck that goes on for miles, and her bluntly cropped blunt hair, it seems obvious that she is a fine artist and possesses a love for strong lines. Much like her passion for making something out of nothing in her art, Gabrielle’s favorite thing about fashion is the hands-on creating and figuring out what to wear. I can see the affinity for heavy metal in the edge of her Chloe wedged boot, the elegance of one of her icons, Hedy Lamar in her sheer, Bill Blass vintage pants, her California roots in her laid-back jean jacket and Miu Miu shorts, and even a tinge of the love that her uncle gave her for jazz in her fringed H&M dress (reminiscent of Jil Sander Spring ’09). The stand out for me though is the estate neckace from her mom – anything old, ropey, chunkey and tassley draws me in like a bee to honey.

If you like Gabrielle, you might also enjoy Crayon Lee, Christine de Lassus, or Carly Mark.
