"It's you who makes the style happen, not the pieces." Dalad Kambhu

Dalad says that it’s not the pieces that you own that make your style, it is the person, one can make anything simple special. She has that inexplicable effortless touch, a black leather jacket over an understated striped dress and alot of balancing feminine with masculine, like a big chunky shoe with a frilly skirt. She grew up in Thailand and is currently a student at F.I.T. majoring in international trading and marketing, she would like to eventually pursue social work at the United Nations. Dalad also works tirelessly for a charitable organization called Love Hallie. She tried modeling, but decided that it wasn’t for her, and is more interested in fashion marketing. She draws her inspiration from people on the street, but she also feels that “a genius like Hedi Slimane of Dior Homme can pump you up at any minute, ” (she is interning in Paris with Christian Dior this semester) and successful women such as Susan Rice, who make a difference in the world. Dalad is hoping for lots of fashion insight while she is in France, but I think the French may be taking tips from her. I love how she manages to turns heads, while not taking herself or fashion too seriously.
