There is something mesmerizing about Celia’s confidence with her haunting Northern European classic good looks, Liv Ulman in an Ingmar Bergman movie kind of way. Like the monumental Swedish actress, who was muse to the equally beyond legendary Swedish director, Celia is introverted, intense, and always thinking. It’s hard not to see her power when in her harem pant tucked into her over the knee boots, tunic dress, menswear, blazer and signature leather opera gloves that she designs. This is someone whom you would want behind you as a new designer. As the co-founder of the Scandanavian Pressroom with Olof Erlandsson, Celia has so much passion for whom she represents that she is a walking advertisement for their creations. Standouts are the ornate shoulder epaulettes, silver finger ring, oversized chain necklace, and one earring by Cornelia. Many of her own designs are quintessential, especially for me the black leather unisex bags of graduating sizes, ultra minimal and chic. I was fascinated by Celia’s description of when she was granted an interview with her hero Vivienne Westwood – ” I got to spend approximately an hour and a half alone in a room with her. I couldn’t write, I couldn’t have a computer, I couldn’t have any daylight coming into the room. It was an enormous kick for me. It’s an iconic moment recorded on my phone.” Celia hopes to get more interviews with strong women in the industry, who like her are creating their own realities, where their work is their passion and still finding time for that occassional walk in the park.
